LOCAL FARMER, BRANDT HONORED FOR CONSERVATION

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, IL (January 24, 2012) – At its annual meeting today, the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) board honored a local farm family and two local businesses for their efforts in protecting and improving the soil and water resources in Livingston County.

Harms Family Farms, Kafer Tiling and Excavating and Brandt were all honored with Conservation Partner Awards.

Harms Family Farms, comprised of Norman, Kevin and Danny Harms, farm approximately 3,250 acres of corn and soybeans, along with raising heifers for a nearby dairy producer. They were recognized for their work with two demonstration plots, as well as five different enhancement practices on their farms.

Kafer Tiling and Excavating received its award for helping local producers establish grass waterways, control structures and tiling according to conservation best practices.

Plant manager Gerry Vance was on hand to receive the award on behalf of Brandt Consolidated. The company was recognized for many projects over the years to improve the quality of water and nutrient management programs. Brad Schmidgall and Pat Schaddel also attended.

COREBRAND'S BARNHART NAMED TO BRANDT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Barnhart was also appointed to the Monterey Agriculture board, a recent Brandt acquisition in Fresno, CA. “We’ve been helping to build the Brandt brand around the idea of control for more than six years,” said Barnhart. “And I am honored to be asked to serve on the company’s board, especially as they expand to a truly national footprint.”
MONTEREY AGRESOURCES BOARD OF DIRECTORS NAMED

Fresno, CA (May 5, 2010) - Rick C. Brandt, Chairman, President and CEO of Brandt, appointed a new Monterey Agriculture Board of Directors at a recent meeting in Fresno, CA. Rick Brandt was named Chairman, John Salmonson, President; Tom Thompson, Vice Pesident; and Bill Engel, Jack Stoldt, Karl Barnhart and Joe Brummel were also named to the board.

GLEN BRANDT NAMED TO SOFTBALL HALL OF FAME
