BRANDT Hosts 'Cut Above' Event for Area Golf Course Superintendents

BRANDT’s event is part of week-long activities for Lincoln Land Championship, including company’s sponsored racecar driver participating in LRS Pro-Am

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (June 18, 2018) – BRANDT is partnering with the Lincoln Land Championship to host a “Cut Above” event for area golf course superintendents during the PGA golf tournament taking place in Springfield June 28-July 1.

The “Cut Above” event will celebrate the folks who keep Midwest golf courses playing their best. It will also provide an opportunity to learn more about BRANDT’s professional turf products being used on the Panther Creek golf course.

"We look forward to hosting the superintendents for a day of PGA golf,” said Bill Engel, BRANDT Executive Vice President. “It is a great way to support the Lincoln Land Championship and showcase some of BRANDT’s turf technologies that are developed and used right here in Illinois.”

As part of the week-long activities, Justin Allgaier, driver of the BRANDT #7 in the NASCAR Xfinity series, will compete in the LRS Pro-Am scheduled for Wednesday, June 27. Allgaier will be joined by three other amateurs and a Web.com Tour player; they are scheduled for the afternoon flight of the Pro-Am.

“We are thrilled to have Justin with us this year,” said Kate Peters, tournament director. “I have a simple message for the people of Springfield: Don your red and come walk along with Justin and his teammates in the Pro-Am. It’s free admission: Come out and watch one of our best local athletes compete with some of the best golfers in the world.”

About the Lincoln Land Championship
The Lincoln Land Championship, a Web.com event, will consist of a 156-player field, competing for a purse of $550,000 at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield. The 7,244-yard golf course was designed by World Golf Hall of Fame Member Hale Irwin in 1992. The course has hosted several notable tournaments including the LPGA’s State Farm Classic from 2007-2011 and has also hosted the NCAA Division II Super Regionals and the Great Lakes Valley Conference Golf Championship.

The Web.com tour, owned and operated by the PGA Tour, continues to identify those players who are ready to compete and win on golf's biggest stage. In 2013, the Web.com Tour became The Path to the PGA Tour with all 50 available PGA Tour cards coming through the Web.com Tour and the season culminating at the four-event Web.com Tour Finals. Web.com became the tour’s umbrella sponsor on June 27, 2012.
