Cotton Demands Boron as First Bloom Approaches

As first bloom for cotton approaches, so does the plant's need for boron. Boron is essential at all stages of plant growth; however, it is critical from the flowering stage through the fruit development stage. Boron aids in square retention and boll set, which is even more evident with today’s fast-fruiting and high-yielding varieties. Additional benefits from boron include improved translocation of sugar to the fruit and stronger, well-developed fibers.

Starting at bloom through boll fill, BRANDT Smart B-Mo applied at a rate of 1 to 2 pints/acre is very effective in supplying boron and molybdenum.
