Job Description
Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the CDL driver is responsible for delivery and pickup of product, reporting, operations, and safety and maintenance of tractor/trailer.
Essential Functions
- Makes deliveries and pickups of product in the most efficient, economical manner to and from specified locations.
- Verifies all items on BOL (Bill of Lading) are loaded and unloaded and delivered correctly.
- Treats all customers courteously. Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and promotes a complementary image of the Company.
- Assists customers with loading and unloading of product with a pallet jack.
- Works with customers to resolve any deliver problems and reports back to supervisor.
- Presents a copy of BOL to customer after each delivery.
- Develops and maintains efficient routing system for delivery and product pickups.
- Submits signed BOLs, receipts from fuel/maintenance purchases and daily trip reports (E-log) to the supervisor on a daily basis.
- Turns in all paperwork including BOL/customer returns/vendor pickups to shipping and receiving on a daily basis.
- Turns in all receipts for fuel, maintenance, etc. on a daily basis to accounting and ensure that they are accurate.
- Fills out E-log/trip reports daily and ensures they are complete and accurate.
- Delivers orders safely following all DOT regulations and safety while operating and maintaining the tractor/trailer.
- Observes OSHA State and Federal regulations.
- Follows all Company and regulatory agency safety policies.
- Completes a daily pre-trip inspection.
- Washes vehicle as weather and operating conditions required to maintain a clean vehicle inside and outside; Other housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular vehicle maintenance schedule along with 90 day inspection.
- Reports any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately.
- Wears clean uniform and be neat in appearance each day.
- Performs all other duties assigned.

Work Environment
The CDL driver is usually confined to the vehicle they are driving, although at times, they may work in an office, manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Classification/Expected Hours of Employment
- This position is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, but must remain flexible to meet the needs of customers. Must have the flexibility to work extended hours. Shifts can start as early as 4:00 am.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and three years or more of related work experience to demonstrate the ability to operate tractor-trailers
- CDL is required. Must maintain a CDL with a hazmat rider and tank endorsement
- Ability to meet all company and DOT standards
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain other applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.
- Certified forklift operator, preferred

Pay Range: $28 - $32 an hour
