Job Description

Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Plant Manager, responsible for supporting operations by performing customer service, logistics, and production support duties. 

 

Essential Functions

 

Logistics

  • Receives raw materials, including internal and external products. Verifies the amounts and products received match purchase order; Receives into GLOBAL and scans necessary documents for purchasing in Fresno. 
  • Prints BOL, pick tickets, and prepares other shipping documents for bulk loads and UPS/Fed-EX.
  • Schedule and log LTL shipments.
  • Ship confirms orders daily.
  • Performs data entry into Global.

 

Production

  • Generate, analyze, and post batch tickets for the production floor.
  • Analyze batch tickets for shortages and requests purchasing to order materials as needed.
  • Provide labels for production.
  • Process stock transfers of material for production and updates on delivery dates for purchase orders.

 

Customer Service

  • Provides the best quality experience with courtesy and a professional attitude to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Assists customers via telephone, email, or fax regarding product availability, etc.

 

General

  • Scales trucks in and out.
  • Assists and coordinates visitors, including delivery drivers.
  • Coordinate approval of invoices for Accounts Payables.
  • Assists with timecards of hourly employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • 3-5 years of previous experience in customer service, logistics or production planning.

 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos in English; Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment
  • Strong customer orientation

 

Supervisory Responsibility

None

 

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in an office environment with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Occasionally works in warehouse/plant in heat/cold conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazards. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. 

 

Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

This position is a full-time position that is exempt.  Typically works 5 eight-hour days (Monday – Friday) with overtime as required. 

 

Education and Experience

Must have high school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
