Summary/Objective

The Legal Administrative Assistant will support the legal department for Team BRANDT, LLC in various functions including preparation of first draft legal documents and reports, online and in-person filings of legal documents and maintaining and updating legal and corporate databases and tracking systems, all under the direct supervision of an attorney member of the legal department. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the legal department.  The administrative assistant may be responsible for confidential and time-sensitive material and must be familiar with a variety of legal concepts, practices and procedures.

 

The Administrative Assistant will report to the Senior Associate General Counsel and work closely with the legal team as well as Team BRANDT employees.

 

Essential Functions

  • Assist corporate counsel with administrative tasks.
  • Assist corporate counsel in preparation of basic legal documents.
  • Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports.
  • Daily record keeping with electronic and hard copy filing of documents.
  • Obtain relevant information from other organizations and agencies.
  • Create and organize information and generate reference tools for easy use by the legal department.
  • Prepare format versions of standard legal documents.
  • Maintain and update databases and tracking systems.
  • Ability to compile data into Excel for analysis.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars and conference room availability.
  • Ability to file annual reports and other corporate filings with Secretaries of State.
  • Preparation of cover letters.
  • Assist with meeting and lunch preparations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional office environment.   

 

Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

This position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm with a half hour for lunch.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required. 
  • 5 years of experience in a legal environment (law firm, corporate law department or professional/accounting firm), or a similar professional environment.
  • Intermediate computer and software skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
