Job Description
Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Formulation Supervisor, the Liquid Formulator operates chemical processing equipment to formulate standard or custom products according to product specifications.
Essential Functions
- Follows production schedule; Follow batch sheet instructions to accurately and efficiently set up, weigh, measure, and mix raw materials in proper sequence; adding ingredients either manually or with pumps and meters.
- Accurately record required information on batch sheet; rotate stock, track inventory, submit samples to QA.
- Prepare approved finished product for container, label and shipping.
- Transfers liquids to tanker trucks and stationary tanks.
- Performs packaging line duties including filling containers, labeling, and casing finished product.
- Performs activities to safely clean, secure and maintain equipment and work areas as required. Participate in housekeeping (e.g. sweep, mop, dust, put items away in proper areas) in the facility.
- Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment. Use of a respirator is required for certain batches.
- Reports any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately.
- Wears clean uniform and be neat in appearance each day.
- Performs all other duties assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Passing a respirator fitting and pulmonary fit test is required.
Classification/Expected Hours of Employment
- This position is a full-time position that is non-exempt. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but must remain flexible to meet the needs of customers by working mandatory weekday and weekend overtime as needed. Work adjusted hours as business necessitates.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Two years of batching experience, preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate accurate math calculations.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to be trained as a certified forklift operator and safely operate a forklift.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, experience with valves, pumps, flow meters, condensers, sensors, PLC's filters, etc.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required.
