Summary/Objective

The Logistics Coordinator plays an essential role in the shipping and receiving for this facility.  Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Logistics Coordinator helps to ensure the flow of raw materials and final products from the manufacturing plant to customers by performing the following duties. This position is located at the production facility in Curran, IL.

 

Essential Functions

  • Receives raw materials, including internal and external products. Verifies the amounts and products received match purchase order
  • Receives materials into GLOBAL and scans necessary documents for purchasing for the TALC- Curran, IL facility.
  • Print bill of lading, pick tickets and prepare other shipping documents for LTL, bulk loads, and UPS/Fed-Ex.
  • Schedule and log LTL shipments.
  • File Bill of Lading for easy retrieval.
  • Ship confirmed orders daily.
  • Schedule inbound loads.
  • Obtain freight rates and maintain freight rate log.
  • Communicate via email, telephone or in-person with internal customers (customer service, purchasing, warehouse).
  • Provides the best quality experience with courtesy and a professional attitude to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate will-call orders with warehouse personnel.
  • Performs data entry into Global.
  • Generate, analyze, and post batch tickets for the production floor.
  • Provide labels for production.
  • Ability to work on production line when needed
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of logistics and production planning experience

 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to read, comprehend instructions and memos in English; Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Self- motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadline in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment
  • Strong customer orientation

 

Supervisory Responsibility

None

 

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in an office environment and in a production environment.  Occasionally works in warehouse/plant in heat/cold conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazards. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. 

 

Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

This position is a full-time position that is non-exempt.  Typically works 5 eight-hour days (Monday – Friday) with overtime as required. 

 

Education and Experience

Must have high school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
