We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior director of product management to join our team. This role will report to the EVP, Chief Marketing Officer. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of specialty formulations products, market trends and customer needs, coupled with proven expertise in positioning, pricing and promotions to drive the success of our overall product portfolio.
The ideal candidate will be a leader who can build out a new and global corporate function. We want someone who can design, recruit and lead a team of high-potential, aggressive professionals. This team will sit in Marketing, but ultimately be charged with collaboration across Specialty Formulations Sales, Discovery & Innovation and Marketing. The product marketing function will curate our portfolio of more than 1,000 nutritionals, adjuvants, biological and sustainable products.
Essential Functions
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends in production and specialty agriculture, competitive landscape and customer preferences.
- Analyze market data to assess product demand, pricing strategies and market positioning opportunities specific to specialty formulations products.
- Lead competitive analysis and be able to identify gaps in the market and associated BRANDT opportunities.
- Understand how to merge acquired products into our portfolio.
- Product Development Support:
- Collaborate with product development teams to define product features, specifications and benefits of products based on market insights and customer feedback.
- Create product messaging, positioning and marketing strategies for specialty formulations products.
- Manage and curate the BRANDT product portfolio based on lifecycle, profitability and positioning, in conjunction with D&I team.
- Work with Purchasing team to understand costs and pricing points.
- Define and Lead Marketing Strategy:
- Build go-to-market strategies that generate revenue and long-term brand value.
- Work with Marketing colleagues to develop and implement marketing plans to drive awareness, demand generation and sales growth of specialty formulations products.
- Lead pricing of all products working tightly with Sales, D&I and Logistics.
- Define and lead private label strategy, working with Sales.
- Content Creation and Collateral Development:
- Work with Marketing team to develop content including product recommendations, presentations, case studies and website content specific to specialty formulations products.
- Work closely with creative teams to develop engaging visuals and multimedia content for specialty formulations products.
- Sales Support and Training:
- Provide sales teams with marketing materials, product training and sales enablement tools to effectively communicate the value propositions of BRANDT products to customers.
- Support sales team with key account presentations and management.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities for specialty formulations products. Actively participate in grower meetings, tradeshows and other customer-focused sales events.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales revenue, market share and customer satisfaction metrics for specialty formulations products.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate marketing performance and ROI of specialty formulations products to stakeholders.
Required Competencies

- Proven experience in marketing specialty formulations agricultural products.
- Deep and demonstrated experience in Ag product positioning and pricing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
- Ability to build and lead a team.
- Ability to lead market segmentation and develop a segmented marketing approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, including end user farmers.
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and ability to develop innovative marketing strategies and promotions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing production processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing automation tools.
- Knowledge of production and specialty agricultural practices, crop production, and agronomic principles.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervise and manage all in-house product marketing & insight positions and other personnel as assigned by the CMO.
Work Environment
Professional office environment, officed in either Tampa, FL or Springfield, IL as required. This position requires competency in using standard office equipment and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Classification/Expected Hours of Employment
This position is a full time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5 p.m., with evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires up to 40% travel, much of which will be overseas and overnight.
Required Education and Experience
- At least a BS in marketing or related communications program. MBA would be a plus.
- Minimum of ten years’ experience in agri-business marketing.
- Experience managing other professionals and supervising support staff.
- Experience in agri-marketing sales and demonstrated experience with product pricing.
- Experience in market segmentation and product positioning.
- International work experience a plus.
