Agronomy Notes

• Citrus trees are evergreen trees and they typically have about 3 growth flushes a year. 
• The most critical is the spring leaf flush because it coincides with flowering and early fruit development.
• A foliar spray of these nutrients during spring leaf expansion will help kick start citrus trees and facilitate crop load support and fruit size development.
• It is always best to make foliar sprays proactively early in the season for maximum efficacy than wait until deficiencies can be seen visually.
• Most citrus demand Zn, Fe, Mn and B regularly to support their foliage and frequent flushes.
• Apply with an adjuvant like BRANDT 719 Spreader to increase coverage and absorption.

Celite 610 is a mechanical insecticide that has been proven to control the most problematic insect pests such as Lepidoptera larvae, ants, beetles, white flies, psyllids, thrips, and other crawling insects.

Agronomy Notes

The early spring flush is a vulnerable time for citrus. This spring time point coincides with flowering and early fruit development in most citrus. Monitoring and management is especially important because insects like citrus thrips and broad mite typically damage young fruits. For citrus like lemons which are constantly blooming Celite 610 should be applied at regular intervals when small fruit is present to prevent fruit damage. 

Application Considerations

• Apply at a rate of 25-60 lb/ac depending on canopy size and pest pressure
• Research shows that lower rates of Celite® 610 may be mixed with conventional insecticide to increase efficacy
• Multiple applications may be needed starting at early vegetative growth to control young fruit damage
  • Efficacy is directly related to coverage. In the case of precipitation or new growth, additional applications will be required. 
  • Include an adjuvant like,  BRANDT 719 spreader to ensures optimum coverage
