BRANDT Agrees to Acquire Mendenhall Ag Services

Springfield, Illinois (March 23, 2023) – BRANDT, a leading retailer of professional agronomic services and manufacturer of specialty input products, has entered into an agreement to acquire Mendenhall Ag Services of Springfield, Illinois. The addition of Mendenhall Ag Services will add operating personnel, input-application assets and increased storage – all to better serve the BRANDT customers of central Illinois.

The location will continue to operate as Mendenhall Ag Services, under current management, with business as usual for the 2023 calendar year. BRANDT will take possession of the location and assets on January 1, 2024, bringing on-board the Mendenhall Ag Services employees into the Team BRANDT organization.

“The addition of Mendenhall Ag Services will continue to create efficiencies within our business operations to serve our valuable customers in central Illinois,” said John Allen, VP of BRANDT Agronomic Services.

Pete Mendenhall founded Pete Mendenhall & Sons in 1946. Current ownership of the single-site operation continued with Kenny and Joy Mendenhall as Mendenhall Ag Services. The second-generation owner, Kenny Mendenhall will continue to independently manage and operate the facility during the 2023 business transition and integration process.

“We want to thank Kenny and Joy for entrusting us with the business they built and their partnership during the transition,” emphasized Allen. “We’ll use 2023 to learn about their customers’ needs so that we can continue to provide the service Mendenhall is known for.”
