BRANDT Upgrades and Expands Facility in Lexington, Illinois

New facility will be strategically designed to meet growing demand within BRANDT Agronomic Services

LEXINGTON, Illinois (21 December 2020) – BRANDT, a leading agriculture retailer and manufacturer of specialty agriculture products, is undertaking a significant investment to upgrade and expand its Ag retail facility in Lexington, IL. The enhancements to the BRANDT Lexington location include constructing a new office building, increasing dry fertilizer storage capacity and expanding the company’s seed treatment capabilities and seed warehousing.

The project, which represents an investment in our business and a commitment to our customers, is on schedule to be completed by the summer of 2021.

Most notably, the project represents a positive public-private partnership and model collaboration between BRANDT and the city. The City of Lexington and BRANDT have been discussing the development and execution of this project for a number of years. As part of the preliminary work, the six BRANDT intown properties were exchanged to the City of Lexington for future development.

“Just over 11 years ago, we purchased six agronomy locations from the Myers family and Doug Nelson. That expansion fundamentally transformed the scope of BRANDT Agronomic Services, extending our reach north and east of Bloomington, IL,” explained Tim McArdle, EVP of BRANDT Agronomic Services. “This new state-of-the-art facility will allow us to better serve our customers in the area. As our customers experience growth in their operations, we must create a facility to meet the demands of the farmers of the future.”

Collectively, BRANDT Agronomic Services and Myers Crop Service have served Lexington and surrounding-area farmers for 65 years. The facility renovation solidifies our bond to the Lexington community for years to come.

“Moving from the Main Street office and concentrating everything at a centralized location north of town will create efficiencies that will allow us to better serve our customers,” said Andy Killian, BRANDT Lexington Manager. “Not only will it be more convenient for our customers to bypass the city center, the new facility will have the latest tools and technologies available to Ag retailers in terms of operational management.”

Ground was broken for the new facility in September and infrastructure work is well underway.
