The Loop 121 at Chicago Street Course
Miguel Paludo made his second appearance of the year in the No. 88 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet at one of NASCAR’s most impressive venues – the street course in downtown Chicago for Saturday’s the Loop 121. Unfortunately, after only 25 laps of racing, the much-anticipated event was postponed a day due to severe weather and ultimately called on Sunday due to heavy rains. Paludo made the most of his time on track, driving to 13th-place prior to the race being called.
Race Rundown
- After qualifying in the 17th position, Paludo made quick work on the racetrack, climbing to the 12th spot by the race’s first caution on lap 6. Paludo maintained the position for the ensuing restart and finished out Stage One in 12th.
- With a car that was plenty competitive, Paludo’s only feedback was that he was a little snug on the left-hand corners. The team took that information and brought the No. 88 to pit road from the 11th position under the lap-18 caution for four tires, fuel and adjustments.
- The field went back to green-flag racing on lap 21 but it was short lived, as the race was soon under a lightning delay and moved to Sunday where it was ultimately cancelled due to continued heavy rains and flooding, leaving the No. 88 team no chance to improve on its 13th-place position.
Miguel Paludo, driver No. 88 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet team
“It was a blast racing the Chicago Street Course. Our BRANDT Chevy was really fast. The strategy we were on would have worked out great if the race would’ve stayed green. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and the race was called early. Big thanks to everyone on the No. 88 team. I can’t wait to do it again.”
